I did a blog post linking to an article where Ian Rankin wrote about writing. Last night, I watched a documentary about him actually writing his new novel, STANDING IN ANOTHER MAN’S GRAVE -
Fascinating insight into his writing process, which seems very chaotic and organic. He basically starts writing and then sees where it takes him – I’ve tried it and I am shite at it. My anal retentive nature means I plan the whole thing out before I start tapping away.
His new book came out yesterday, patiently waiting for Amazon to deliver my hardcover – got 65pp of a Jim Thompson left to read as a stopgap.
